Privacy Policy
This policy covers my personal websites: sayed.dev, abusayed.de and lrs.bd (my CV in English, German and Bengali), abusayed.dev (intro page) and sayed.blog (blog). In short: no analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts, and I don't collect data about you.
Who is responsible
Abu Sayed, Babenhausen (Hessen), Germany. Email: hello@sayed.page
When you visit
All sites are delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. To show you a page and protect the sites against attacks, Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, and keeps security logs for a short time. I don't keep request logs myself. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in secure, working websites). Cloudflare may process data in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
abusayed.dev uses your country (determined by Cloudflare from your IP address) to choose the page language. It is not stored. It also shows whether my sites are online, loaded from my own status page status.sayed.app (also served by Cloudflare).
Cookies and browser storage
- The sites set no cookies for visitors.
- If you click the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so the next page keeps it. It is never sent to me.
- On abusayed.dev and sayed.blog, Cloudflare may show a short check to automated clients (scripts, bots) and then set a security cookie (
cf_clearance). Normal visitors don't see it.
Content from other services
- Bluesky posts (feed page on the CV sites, feed panel on abusayed.dev): the posts and their images come from Bluesky's servers, which receive your IP address when they load.
- Blog pages on the CV sites: images are copied from sayed.blog when the site is built and served from these sites. One older image is still loaded from GitHub.
- sayed.blog: the search tool is loaded from jsDelivr, which receives your IP address.
sayed.blog
The blog has no member accounts, newsletter or comments, so it stores no data about readers. It runs on a rented server in Bangladesh; Cloudflare removes your IP address before requests reach that server. If you follow the blog from Mastodon or another fediverse service, those interactions are handled through Ghost's ActivityPub service (ap.ghost.org).
If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply. Email for sayed.page is handled by Zoho Mail.
Your rights
You can ask me what data about you exists and have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, restrict it or get a copy (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Just email me. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI).
